Why brands should upload their video onto youtube

Have a look at this videoclip that is topping the charts on Youtube these days.

As I'm posting the clip, it had attracted 87.075 views, it's been commented 224 times and 1226 people added this clip to their personal favourites. These are impressive stats.

The problem however is that this clip has been uploaded by a user who deleted the advertising payoff.  The clip is actually a viral clip for Ikea. Take a look at the original file at Viralchart.com.

The irony of it is that the clip clearly is staged by an agency. They adopted the Consumer Generated Content kind of style. This is a beautiful evidence that agencies can copy the symbols and icons of the CGM-generation, but lot's of them still don't understand the subtleties of how social networks operate.

Moral of the story: make sure you upload your viral movies yourself, before your users do it for you... the way they want to upload it.
